i just got the part for the wizard of oz in my school play. my part was the wiz… i havent seen the movie, i just tried out and got it. is that an important part because people have been saying im basically the main character

You’re the title character! The Wizard usually doubles as Professor Marvel (it’s fairly integral to the plot) and so does appear in both acts; there’s not a huge amount of stage time but he is a very important character. The Wizard does have some lines which are spoken from offstage.
