i have a project for theatre arts where me and a partner have to come up with a short script for a puppet show and perform it with 2 sock puppets. there needs to be some sort of problem or conflict then it has to be resolved in the skit also. it can be funny or serious but must be school appropriate and appropriate for kids. i have no idea what to do, help please! any ideas would be great, thanks

Here’s a couple suggestions:
1) base it on a classic, like Greek tragedy (Medea with sock puppets? Oedipus? Oedipus might be fun b/c you can put Oedipus’ eyes on with Velcro and then rip them off when he goes blind)
2) Give them a simple problem that stems from a sock puppet’s lack of arms. Like, they need to do solve a Rubik’s cube. (answer: they discover they must work together…)
3) Give them a talking-heads TV show, like a “liberal / conservative” cable news debate show, or a sports commentator show, and give them a disagreement. You can make a cardboard TV screen frame.
